- The LinkedIn messaging that got my first 10 customers.
The LinkedIn messaging that got my first 10 customers.
I use this workflow to get 50+ 1:1 conversations with my audience and convert them to customers
In this newsletter, I’m going to show you how to start having conversations with your buyers and getting them into demos with LinkedIn messaging.
I'll walk you through...
It’s the first tactic I recommend to new founders who don’t yet have a following
And I’m still using this exact strategy to book tons of calls and get 1-2 new customers per week.
If you’re launching your new B2B product or are struggling to get engaged leads in the door, this is for you.
Read on.
My End-to-End LinkedIn Messaging Process
Create a newsletter landing page on beehiiv for a lead magnet.
It takes about 30 minutes to set up the landing page with their academy, and all you need to make the messaging work is a nice landing page.Start really simple.
Worry about the actual newsletters later after you get some signups.Build a target audience of 150 on LinkedIn Sales Navigator
Align the value with your audience in 1-2 sentences
⚠️⚠️Important⚠️⚠️
You need to nail this 1-2 sentence description. If you do it right then someone liking your newsletter is an instant hand raise.
For example, my newsletter helps bootstrapped founders do their own marketing.
So when i get this response:
I know they would probably be interested in Marketing for Founders.
Send the newsletter to your target audience
This part is easy, but a bit time-consuming
Send your messaging to your list of 150 leads.
More on this in the next section.Get positive replies into a demo ✅
Once they told you that your content was helpful for them you can do 2 things
→ Tell them how your product helps even more and get them into a call→ Ask them what they’re struggling with & push the conversation to the problems you fix
Use your best judgment here.
Easier said than done but you will get better at this part over time.
My Killer 3-Touch Messaging Template
The goal is to become a resource for and create conversation with your leads.
That’s it.
You’re not selling to them. Yet…
Here’s what it looks like in action, then I’ll break it down.
First Message - Get the connection
Keep it light, but specific.
Tell them why you’re connecting and what’s going to happen when they accept.
Hi [Name] - connecting to share my newsletter that helps you [do thing]. I thought you might find some value out of it because of [personalized thing]
I don’t always include the personal section if I can’t find something genuine.
Second Message - Get the subscription
Once they connect give them what you promise.
I started the newsletter for [target audience matching your connection].
Check it out?
[Link to the newsletter]
Simple, then wait for them to respond.
Don’t forget to check your subscribe list to see if they did it.
Third message - Give more details (If they don’t respond)
I try to shake out a few extra conversations by giving more context after 1-2 days of no response.
What do you think?
Here’s what’s in it if you’re not sure:
→ Some information
→ A bit more
→ One more
If they don’t respond to these messages don’t keep pestering them. Wait a few weeks and send them a piece of content, post, or guide to give them value.
Why It Works So Well
→ You aren’t assuming their problems by suddenly asking for a demo
→ Real conversations are better than pitches
→ You’re being a resource to the buyer
→ You’re building trust quickly
→ Your demo feels like help
