Build a high-converting content funnel with 1 hour per day in 2024
Drive more leads with just 5-7 hours per week.
Is this you?
"I need to create content for LinkedIn, my blog, and other platforms, but I don't know where to start with just a couple hours per week."
I'm in the same boat as you.
I have limited time running a business, working with customers, and helping my small team.
I only have 5-7 hours per week to drive new business.
But I can still drive 10 new leads to Marketing for Founders from Reddit, LinkedIn, and this Newsletter each week.
This is how I have built my lead funnel:
Social Media (LinkedIn/Reddit) > Newsletter > Free Office Hours > Purchase
Do these steps to start driving more leads and converting more new business
LinkedIn & Reddit Posting
1 - Connect with 150 people per week on LinkedIn
2 - Comment with good actionable advice, and repurpose your best comments into posts.
A good comment should stand out by being detailed and conversational.
Most comments on Reddit are short and a bit generic.
Why? Most people underestimate the amount of information or help someone needs when they ask.
I like to include step-by-step instructions in my comments so I know the reader can get something out of it.
3 - Create posts that facilitate the types of conversations you want to have
Here is an example of me doing this on Reddit.
4 - Gently promote a newsletter where it makes sense
I spend a lot of time answering questions and helping people across my channels.
I occasionally add a line to the end of a comment or post that lightly pushes readers to my newsletter.
A couple of examples:
"I talk about things like this in my newsletter. Check it out!"
"You might get some value from my newsletter, I write about actionable tips and steps to take in marketing your SaaS."
I love this newsletter because it lets me engage with you all without trying to sell something.
Almost every person who comes to Marketing for Founders has interacted with this weekly newsletter and has had value from it
I you aren't doing a newsletter, you're missing out. Ill write a more in-deoth newsletter guide in the coming weeks for y'all!
1 - Use Beehiiv to write & send your newsletter.
I'm currently moving to Beehiiv from HubSpot so I can use their referral program to grow subscribers faster.
2 - Focus on a specific market & problem
Go even more specific than your product. For this newsletter, I narrowed it down from "B2B SaaS founders who need marketing help" to "B2B SaaS founders who need help launching their new product".
It's not a big difference, but it narrows the targeting and makes the newsletter more engaging for my readers (right?!?).
3 - Focus on an outcome
You're trying to sell a product that helps people do something. So you want to focus on helping them do that thing before they even buy.
This will engage buyers more and show them that you are a subject-matter expert in the areas they need help.
4 - Use my format
I stole this format from a newsletter I follow called "The Collab".
It has 3 components:
A personal intro, value-based content, sign-off & call-to-action
My call-to-action is to sign up for my free monthly office hours.
Host Live Office Hours
I pick office hours because they require almost no prep.
Just show up.
A webinar or workshop requires you to create a script, invite co-hosts, or build a deck.
1 - Set up on LinkedIn & Invite your connections
It takes about 5-10 minutes to set one of these up.
3 - Push from your newsletter
If your audience gets a ton of value from your newsletter they will want to hear from you live.
Invite them to join your office hour session at the end of your email, you can see how I do it at the end of this newsletter.
4 - Send attendees to your product
During your office hours, attendees are looking for actionable information.
This is a great opportunity to give them that hands-on help and tell them how your product or solution takes it a step further.
Don't over-sell them, though, give more than you take.
